From CMAS to PADI — A Lifetime of Diving Excellence

Ari-Pekka’s diving journey started in 1989, and he hasn’t slowed down since — exploring waters both at home in Finland and around the world.

By 1993, he had turned his passion into a profession, becoming a diving instructor. He began his career under CMAS certification before eventually crossing over to PADI.

After years of teaching under CMAS, Ari-Pekka made the leap to PADI — discovering new possibilities in professional dive education and joining a global network of instructors.

So what made him switch? In this episode, Ari-Pekka shares the story behind his crossover — the reasons, the process, and what he’s gained from becoming part of the world’s largest diver training organisation. His experience offers valuable insight for any instructor considering a similar move.
